FAA Investigates Near-Miss Between Air Canada and Republic Airways at JFK
The FAA of the United States is investigating a dangerous encounter between an aircraft of Air Canada and an aircraft from Republic Airways at JFK International Airport, New York. On Monday, the crew members of Republic Airways were compelled to engage in evasive maneuvers as the aircraft got too close to the Air Canada aircraft as a result of a failed approach attempt. The crews managed to handle the onboard collision warnings effectively. This incident has followed the death of two pilots when their aircraft collided with a fire truck while operating out of LaGuardia Airport last month.
